Crittenden PTA Goals 2007-2008
- To increase parent participation and presence on campus
- To cooperate with student council to increase student involvement in planning and implementing activities
- To create a friendly, positive campus climate which creates a stronger more diverse community of parents, teachers and students
- To create effective channels of communication with parents and teachers
Support Crittenden Middle School!It's as Easy as ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR!
Crittenden PTA makes a difference in our kids' middle school experience by supporting:
* athletics * dances * assemblies * graduation festivities * library purchases
To continue these programs and add more support for grade-level activities, lunch-time activities, and extra-curricular activities, we need your support in these four ways:
ONE : Become a member . For only $5 you can add your name to the list of parents who support education at Crittenden and can vote on PTA issues. With more members, Crittenden will have a stronger voice in local, state and national decisions about education. Our goal this year is 200 members. When we reach this goal:
• The whole school will celebrate with an OTTER POP party!
• Crittenden PTA members will be entered in periodic raffle drawings-the sooner you join, the more chance you'll have to win!
Membership dues cover local, state, and national PTA fees and do not add to the Crittenden PTA budget. To support programs at Crittenden, PTA asks for direct donations and holds fundraisers.
TWO: Make a direct donation . By donating money now, you will help to assure that old programs can be continued without a break and that new programs can be started sooner. The advantages of a direct donation are:
- All of your money will go to PTA activities, not to the fundraising vendor
- The money you donate is 100% tax deductible
- You don't need to worry about selling or collecting money for fundraisers
Although we will be doing some fundraisers, they require that PTA spend money and volunteer time that could be put to better use. Our goal is to raise $15,000. Please consider giving $100 per child or any amount that you can afford.
THREE: Volunteer . Students benefit from having parents involved in their school. PTA has many volunteer opportunities that can be done after school hours, in the evenings, or on your own schedule. Learn more about volunteer activities and find one that suits you, so that you can be part of the Crittenden team. Being involved keeps you up-to-date on school activities and on the life of kids in middle school.
FOUR: Give us your ideas . What can PTA do to make Crittenden better? What activities or events would your child like to add to his or her middle school experience? What do you as a parent want to see for you or for your child? Whether or not you can do any of the first three things, please give us your ideas.
